Berlena Reynolds

You probably noticed that many of my rabbits have Berlena in their name.  That is because I bought so many nice rabbits from Berlena.  She has sold me several champions.  I was trying to find some BEW rabbits to cross with the three I had already. I located her in California and began to email and ask about what she might have for sale.  She explained how she bred to get BEW's that were of good show quality and fur. She has been very sucessful and has the best Blue Eyed White show rabbits in the country.

She brought the first rabbits I bought from her to the 84th ARBA convention where she met up with Deidre who brought them home to me. It sure was a long wait but they finally made it here to Georgia. She will be sending another rabbit shipment later in December once my rabbits are finished granded and showing.

Not only did I get some great BEW's and VC carriers from her, I also was able to get many different varieties of mini rex in blue, broken blue, white, black, broken black and even a broken red.  I am proud to every single one of them.

She has become a great friend in such a short time. She calls me excitedly when one of my rabbits gets a win to tell me about it.  I am a proud Mom when they win.  She and I have talked about a lot of personal life events as well as rabbits. We have some things in common we found out.  She is a great mom to her two children for sure. Often she says, I have to go play ball with my son so we will talk later.  She is very proud of her children and you can read all about them on her website.

Her website is a great source of information.  She has all of her rabbits listed there, all the expected litters, and videos and pictures of the bigger shows like the mini rex nationals and ARBA conventions. I feel like I have been there with her when I am finished reading and looking at pictures.

She is one smart lady and has developed a winning formula for breeding show rabbits. She not only wins in the BEW division, but in many of the regular color divisions as well such as white, black, and this year especially, himi. She is one smart lady and has the wins to prove it!!! She was #1 BEW exhibitor in the country for 2007, 2008 and is well on her way to being # 1 in 2009 and that proves it all.

Berlena has her rabbitry in California and you can visit her website at Berlena's Place.
Brad Edmonson

I met Brad through Deidre when she brought me one of his tri mini rex bucks that she picked up for me at a rabbit show.  Later on, I called him to tell him how much I really liked "Noble" and that he was giving me some really nice babies.  He invited me to his home and rabbitry because he had some does he might part with.  I went there and was amazed at his rabbitry. He had mini rex in so many colors. They were so beautiful and healthy. He had rabbits in colors I had never even seen before. His rabbitry was nice and clean and all of his rabbits were so well taken care of.  He introduced me to "Cheesecake", his most famous Iris Patch buck that has produced so many nice rabbits for him. I left with a Cheesecake son named "Pie" and two of his daughters.

Brad is a walking genetics experts when it comes to rabbits. He can tell you about each color and how it is related to the basic colors that all rabbits come in.  For instance, how Blue is a dilute of Black and Lilac is a dilute of Chocolate and it does not stop there. His knowlege is truly at an expert level. I don't think I will ever understand it all, but I love to hear him explain his genetic magic.  It is so facinating to listen to.

Most of all, Brad is such a very nice guy. Everyone I know that has met him says the same thing. He has been really doing well lately with his showing. I am very proud of him because no one works harder than he does at showing and breeding for perfection. I am very honored to know him and I hope through time and rabbits, we remain friends.  The rabbits I have gotten from him are proving to be a great asset to my rabbitry.

My last visit to Brad's concluded with me leaving with 15 rabbits. Five of them I gave to a young girl to start her own breeding program and the rest came home to enrich the bloodlines I already have.

I can never thank Brad enough for all he has done and continues to do to help me.  Thank you Brad for all the great rabbits that have come to live with me.

Deidre Edder

It all began when I was looking for tri colored mini rex and I called several people I found on the ARBA District 6 website and they all told me about Deidre Edder.  I called Deidre and there was a show coming up that very weekend close and I told her I would be there. She of course was very busy because she is always involved in helping to make sure everything runs smoothly at the shows and we only talked briefly.

I called again later and unbelievably, she only lived 7 miles from me. She said she was selling out of all her mini rex including her tri colored and I could come there and see what she had left.  There in her cages were the rabbits I had been dreaming of finding. Some does had litters and she reached in and handed me a tri baby doe. My heart melted and I was hooked.  I told her I would be back in a day or two. I just had to go home and prepare for them.  I did not have as many cages as she had rabbits and I was leaving no mini rex behind from her rabbitry.

I later asked her if she could find me a tri buck when she was at the next few shows and she soon called to tell me she had found a beautiful tri buck she picked up from Brad Edmondson. She had bred his father, PP's Easy Does It, and knew the lines well.  "Noble" has given me many beautiful tri colored babies as he crossed right in perfectly with the rabbits I had gotten from her. It was a perfect match.

Deidre really has been a great mentor. She is always so helpful to me about anything I ask of her concerning rabbits, their nutrition, genetics and health. She is a great lady and I consider her a dear friend and I adore her. She is helpful for any non rabbit reason as well and has offered me a shoulder more than once when I have needed one. We have become good friends through my time of knowing her and I greatly value her opinions and expertise. I have learned many things about rabbits from her and she is always willing to share anything she knows about them.

She brought me 7 rabbits home from the 2007 ARBA convention from Berlena Reynolds in California and those are the foundation rabbits for my Wedgwood Rabbitry.

Thank you Deidre!!!

Unfortunately this fine lady is about to move away to another state. I will miss her terribly and even though she will only be a few hours away, things won't be the same around here without her being just 10 minutes away. She is one of my best friends!!

Deidre owns the Phunny Pharm Rabbitry and specialized and shows Champion Jersey Woolie and Netherland Dwarf rabbits. She is a American Rabbit State representative for Georgia in District 6, and a member of the  Decatur Rabbit Breeders Association.  You can email her at Edderland@yahoo.com.
